Here's everything the winger had to say after his side's 3-0 win over Livingston.
How do you sum up that game?
I feel like we’re in a good way. We have to keep pushing, doing what the manager wants, and I’m sure we’ll keep performing in the way we’ve been.
How has the manager improved your game?
The manager has said what he expects of me and where he sees me. He’s always encouraging me and give me advice. I appreciate it because he’s straightforward and honest. That’s what you want as a player. You know where you stand and what you need to improve on. He has been great with me. There’s been ups and downs — I came back from injury and didn’t get the minutes I wanted at times. But that’s why we’re doing so well, it’s a team sport and he’s got us all together, even the players who haven’t been playing regularly. He has us all believing as one team. I think that’s why we have been so consistent. Everyone who comes on the pitch knows exactly what they’re doing and it shows.
Talk us through your goal?
We knew it wasn’t going to be easy to break down Livingston, they were going to be compact. Sometimes you just have to go for it. I tried the shot and it took a little deflection but I’m still taking it as my goal.
Do the players feel the upturn in the atmosphere?
The better atmosphere happens when the team is playing well, the team is flowing and good results happen. Fans will always be happy with that — they want positive results week in, week out, and especially at a big club like Rangers.
Are you confident you can provide big moments like Sima?
We have high standards and so do the fans. Maybe at times I haven’t got enough goals and done enough but it’s always been a big thing for me to try to contribute with goals and assists. Sima has done very well for us and he’s a big miss, but all of the attackers want to score goals. I think I have to focus on what I can bring and go on from there.
How do you see the arrival of Oscar Cortes?
Oscar arriving brings good pressure. I’ve seen glimpses in training and he came on in this game. He’s obviously a good player and it’s good competition. We need that with the number of games we have. It’s positive for the team to bring in a player of his quality.
