Tom Lawrence has admitted fans were right to label Rangers as boring and predictable in their defeat to Kilmarnock

But, the Ibrox midfielder insists the criticism is unfair if applied to other matches this season.

Rangers fell to a 1-0 loss at Rugby Park on Sunday with just three shots on target despite having the majority of possession in Ayrshire.

Supporters had been left furious over the display with Philippe Clement facing stick over long balls and slow play in the Scottish Premiership loss.

"I think that’s fair for the game on Sunday," conceded Lawrence ahead of the Europa League tie against FCSB. "I don’t think it’s fair for the previous games. I think we've created enough chances in previous games.

"On Sunday, I don’t know why we performed like that. But we need to make sure we don’t perform like that ever again at this club while we’re here.

"Like I said, me being a creative player. I have to create chances, score goals. We need to be quicker.

"We were too lacklustre and I’m sure we’ll be a lot better on Thursday night."

Quizzed on the blame falling on Clement, Lawrence insisted the players have to take their share of the criticism as he demanded they put it right tomorrow evening.

"It shouldn't just be on the manager. It's us as players," said Lawrence.

"We need to step up. We can't have performances like we did on Sunday.

"Like I said, we need to do everything we can on Thursday to put it right."
