Kenny Miller was left furious with Willie Collum's decision to send John Lundstram off for Rangers against Celtic in this afternoon's Scottish Premiership showdown.

The former Rangers striker couldn't believe the referee changed his mind after a VAR check for the midfielder's challenge on Alistair Johnston.

The ex-Sheffield United man steamed into the challenge, where he looked second favourite, and replays showed he got nothing of the ball as he hit the right-back with excessive force, and therefore endangered the safety of an opponent.

TV footage indeed highlighted that the 30-year-old caught the Canadian high above the ankle, with his studs showing, and so Collum upgraded his yellow card to a red after checking the pitchside monitor at Celtic Park.

The general consensus is that the right decision was reached by the officials.

However, Miller was having none of it, as he went on an almighty rant live on-aor about the incident.

"He's going to win the ball, Johnston plants his leg and he catches him," Miller said on commentary. "Every tackle like that cannot be a red card.ย

"See in real time, that's never a red card. Never a red card. Now, looking at the still."

After the decision was made, he continued his rant: "You know what, the way the game is going now, that is not a red card. There's no way that's a red card.ย

"Every kick can't be a red card. Alistair Johnston plants his foot in the way of where John Lundstram is going."

Lundstram endured a nightmare first half where he also put the ball into the back of Jack Butland's net.ย

Moments after Matt O'Riley gave the hosts the lead in the do-or-die Premiership clash, the midfielder was a tad unlucky as he diverted the ball into his own net.ย

Cyriel Dessers finally got his Old Firm goal shortly after that, however, despite Rangers getting back into the game, Lundstram's tackle put the visitors right up against it.
