Abdallah Sima has delivered a potential hint over when he may be due to return from his latest Rangers injury setback.

The on-loan Brighton forward limped off after only 16 minutes during Rangers' Scottish Cup semi-final win against Hearts.

Cyriel Dessers scored both goals as Philippe Clement's side marched onto the final, which will be played against Celtic on Saturday, May 25.

It was far from a classic performance from the Light Blues, but after a difficult week of dropped points in the Premiership, it was a case of job done.

While the result will have pleased the manager and fans, seeing Sima - who recently spent three months out with a hamstring injury - walk off early in the game would have been a real concern.

Post-match, Clement confirmed it was indeed another hamstring issue for the player.

But while the club waits for an assessment on Sima's fitness, and indeed his future, with the Senegalese striker set to return to Brighton this summer, the 22-year-old has posted an update on his social media channels, which could hold a cryptic hint over when he'll be back.

Posting an image of the full-time result against Hearts to his Instagram story, he added the caption: "On to the final."

Everyone associated with Rangers will indeed be hoping this is the case, with Sima making a great impact on the side this season, with 16 goals and two assists in 38 appearances.

Clement said: "We're going to see and make an assessment tomorrow. He felt some tightness in his hamstring, I hope it's not so bad.

"We hope we can have Abdallah in the next couple of weeks because he's been really important in that period where he was fit and he was coming back now. So we will see."

With Rangers set to face off against Celtic on May 25, Sima has set his focus on another appearance at the national stadium.
