Philippe Clement has provided a further update on the fitness of Rangers new boy Oscar Cortes.

The Colombian was a bright spark in what was an otherwise poor performance by the Ibrox club during the first half of their visit to Kilmarnock on Wednesday.

James Tavernier and Tom Lawrence ensured the points would be heading home with Rangers after a strong second-half fightback.

However, there was concern for Cortes, 20, when he hobbled off holding his hamstring.  Scott Wright replaced him for the remainder of the game.

Clement addressed the on-loan Lens attacker's situation in his post-match in Ayrshire, stating it was too soon for a diagnosis. 

However, he's now provided the following information when speaking to the media, admitting he's out of tomorrow's game. 

Speaking at Auchenhowie, he said: "Oscar [Cortes] will be out. I don't know for how long.

"We are looking into that with the doctors and specialists so I can't say too much about that.

"It's a muscle injury but I cannot say much more for the moment.

"I am focused on players available for this game because otherwise, I would have lost a lot of energy in the last couple of months. That's useless.

"It's a pity for him and the team but an opportunity for another player to show it and do it. It works like that."

Kemar Roofe is back in contention after sitting out of the midweek win due to the artificial surface at Killie.

Goal hero Tom Lawrence and Ryan Jack are described as okay, however, are not certain to play against Motherwell on Saturday afternoon.
