In the eyes of Rangers fans, Philippe Clement can do no wrong. 

The Belgian has turned the club's fortunes around spectacularly in less than six months in charge of the Ibrox side.

He's guided them to League Cup success, the last-16 of the Europa League and to the top of the Premiership table despite being seven points behind Celtic earlier this season.

Last night's 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park was described by the 49-year-old as a 'massive' moment in the title fight, as they maintained their two-point lead at the summit.

And Rangers fans on social media were loving Clement's 'cold' comment when speaking to the media after the game in Ayrshire.

He heaped praise on Derek McInnes and Killie, who were more than decent in the match as they battled to get a result in their quest for fourth-spot.

Clement pointed out that they've been on an impressive run of form themselves since early December, however, have come up short only to his side.

"It's the players who do it, it's about them," the manager said. "It's these nights that need to be a reference in their heads for the future.

"You can speak about 11 players, or 15/16 players who did major things to get a result.

"Also, all credit to Derek and his team, who made it a really big fight. Also, what they've been doing all these months. Now, in 15 games, Kilmarnock have only lost twice... two times against us. 

"The rest they didn't lose one of the games. Huge credit to Kilmarnock that they made it a really big fight. Of course, they're more used to these circumstances and we had to take time to adapt to these circumstances also. That was the big difference in the second half."
