Kris Boyd is more than used to being on the receiving end of stick from Celtic supporters.

Today was no different after the Hoops staged a dramatic late win at Fir Park to cut the gap on Rangers at the top of the Premiership.

That deficit now stands at two points, with Philippe Clement's side having gone five in front with victory over Hearts yesterday.

Adam Idah scored a double, with his second coming in stoppage time to help secure three points in Lanarkshire for the champions. Luis Palma added a third for the visitors.

Those goals sparked wild celebrations in the away stand at Fir Park, next to the Sky Sports punditry gantry where Boyd was working alongside James McFadden, Charlie Mulgrew and Eilidh Barbour.

Post-match, the four were directing the game, however, the remaining Hoops fans who had not filtered out of the stadium could be heard aiming abuse at ex-Rangers striker Boyd.

He had a cheeky response, though. He quipped: "There is a few happy people for cutting a five point gap at the top down to two."

Meanwhile, manager Clement revealed his Rangers side earned themselves a rare Sunday off after going five points clear of Celtic at the top of the cinch Premiership with a 5-0 win over Hearts.

Midfielder Mohamed Diomande’s fine strike in just over a minute at Ibrox set the tone for an impressive performance.

Oscar Cortes doubled that lead with his first goal as a Light Blues player with striker Cyriel Dessers adding a third and fourth just before and after the break and substitute Fabio Silva scoring a fifth.

The Gers boss, looking ahead to the visit to Kilmarnock on Wednesday night, said: “There is nothing won. We won three points and have a difficult day again on Wednesday. I am already thinking about Wednesday."
