Rangers boss Philippe Clement insists his squad is less stressed than earlier in the season.

The Belgian joined the Ibrox side in October last year after the sacking of Michael Beale and has since guided his side to the League Cup and the Europa League knockout stages.

Clement's men have the opportunity to go top of the Scottish Premiership for the first time this season when the face Ross County tomorrow evening.

And the Belgian feels his team are in a good place. He said: "If fans are excited it is only a good thing as it gives us energy. We are only focused on the match, for sure it was a different kind of noise at games a few months back.

"They didn't like that one. It is much more positive now which only helps the team. I want the connection between players to be strong, it is very important to have these human relationships.

"It is a really special dressing room at the moment, it was much more stressful earlier in the season, so it is important we have a lot of fun, but also a lot of hard work."

Meanwhile, new Rangers star Oscar Cortes has revealed he is determined to follow in the footsteps of countryman and former Ibrox hero Alfredo Morelos by being called up by Colombia.

The 20-year-old joined on loan from Lens at the end of the transfer window and has made an instant impact after being named Man of the Match in Rangers' Scottish Cup win over Ayr United.

Cortes has been capped once by the South American country when he came on as a sub for four minutes in a 1-0 friendly win over Iraq in Valencia last June and he hasn't been included since.

But he's convinced good displays for Rangers can see Colombia boss Nestor Lorenzo hand him a recall and follow Morelos who was capped while playing in Scotland.

In an interview with a Colombian radio station, Cortes said: "I know there is still a lot I need to do to improve my game.

"But I am very hopeful I can make it back to the national team. I have been told a lot about Alfredo Morelos and the history he made at Rangers because of all the goals he scored.

He was well loved at Rangers. I will do as much as I can to raise the profile of Colombia here, like he did,

"Since I arrived in Scotland the players in the team have received me well, they have helped me along little by little and that has helped me gain more confidence. 

"My aim is to try and get as many minutes as possible in Scotland, which is what I am here for.

"Rangers reminds me of playing for Millonarios. They are a good team and play football the way I like it.

"In Scotland, every game you play, you know that the next day you will be very tired because of the intensity in matches here.

"The manager and coaches here have been really helpful to me too."
