Odds have been slashed on Jose Mourinho becoming the new manager of Al-Ettifaq with pressure mounting on Steven Gerrard.
The former Rangers boss has struggled with his new side in Saudi with the club currently sitting in eighth position in the Saudi Pro League.
Gerrard made the return to the dugout in the summer, as he was one of several high-profile football stars to make the venture to the Middle East.
He had previously left Rangers for Aston Villa in the Premier League, but things did not go to plan and he was subsequently sacked after just eleven months.
Gerrard will be hoping the same doesn't happen at Al-Ettifaq, but the bookies have already opened betting on his potential successor.
BettingSites.co.uk have released odds on Jose Mourinho becoming a manager of an SPL club and Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq are currently the favourites.
Liam Solomon, Head of PR for BettingSites.co.uk said: "Without a win since October, Steven Gerrard is now odds on for the chop as Al-Ettifaq manager before the month is out.
"The availability of Jose Mourinho has led BettingSites traders to slash odds on the elite manager replacing Gerrard at the SPL club.
"Al-Ettifaq now have a month's break until their next league game, which would allow Mourinho enough time to settle into life in Saudi Arabia, giving him the best opportunity to halt the club's free fall down the table."
Roma ended Mourinho’s two-and-a-half-year spell as manager on Tuesday morning following one win in their last five Serie A matches. They are ninth in the table.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United boss led Roma to the Europa League final last season after winning the Europa Conference League the campaign before.
It remains to be seen where Mourinho will end up, but the odds on him moving to Saudi are as follows:
Jose Mourinho to become manager of SPL club odds:
Al-Ettifaq @2/1 (33% chance of happening)
Al-Ittihad @4/1 (20% chance of happening)
Al-Ahli @8/1 (11% chance of happening)
Al-Nassr @10/1 (9% chance of happening)
Al-Hilal @25/1 (4% chance of happening)
Steven Gerrard to be sacked by end of the month odds:
To be sacked by January 2024 @2/1 (33% chance of happening)
