Michael Beale has been made an outside favourite to land his next job as Millwall manager.

The former Rangers boss is currently out of the game after being relieved of his duties at Ibrox.

But BetVictor have Beale priced among the frontrunners for the vacant Millwall job after Gary Rowett left the Championship side.

The club confirmed a mutual agreement was reached for the manager to depart the club after four years at The Den.

Now, early odds have Beale priced at 7/2 to make a quickfire return to management following his Ibrox departue.

However, he could face competition for the role from Kevin Muscat who recently missed out on the Rangers hotseat.

The Australian - who played for both Rangers and Millwall - had attended interviews for the Rangers post before Philippe Clement was offered the job.

But he is now the bookies favourite to head to Millwall to succeed Rowatt. He is priced at 5/2 to make the switch to the English Championship from J-League side Yokohama F Marinos.

On his departure from Rangers, Beale commented: "Thank you @rangersfc to everyone behind the scenes at the training ground and Ibrox, to the board, staff, fans and all the players.

"I will always follow and support the club from afar and wish you every success. Now is the time for everyone to unite fully behind Steven Davis and the team in the coming games.

"There is still so much to play for this season and I have a strong belief in this group of players. Thank you and good luck. MB"
