Ryan Jack faced the media this evening ahead of Rangers' Champions League qualifier second leg against Servette. Here's everything he had to say...
Worried only got one goal lead?
Obviously last week it was good for us to get the lead to take into the second leg. It’s a touch match and we expect another one on Tuesday. It’ll be a full house with a lot of fans but we’ve experienced that as a squad and a team for many years now, so we’re looking forward to it.
Prepared for the threat of Servette?
Every game poses a different challenge. Tomorrow night is no different, we’re going to be up against a good side, with good midfielders who are technically good. Myself and the other players in midfield need to match that. We need to be strong and we need to stand up to it. As the gaffer touched on, we need to play the way we play. It’s important we don’t come and sit in. It’s important we come and have a go.
How far has the team came since the infamous defeat to Progres?
It’s been some journey since then. They were obviously my first games for the club. To go from those games, to the Europa League Final and again last season reaching the Group Stages of the Champions League. It’s been an incredible experience and journey. But it’s a new set of players, different staff and we want to go on a different journey together.
Important to take lessons from your European experiences?
I learned a lot from those games. As I’ve said, it’s different challenges with different games. It’s important you always try and bounce back. As I say, you never get too high when things are going well and never too low when things aren’t. We just need to carry that as we go along.

How much of an impact will the heat have?
It will be a tough shift. Every game in Europe is tough. But that’s what you go away in the pre-season for. We train in the heat, we had a friendly in Germany in the heat, it was 30 plus degrees. So we are well used to to it and I don’t think it will be an issue.
Managing fitness after the rest against Livingston?
As a player I want to be available for every game I can. The manager picks the team and when he sees it’s the right time to put me in or pull me out I have to respect and trust his call. Going forward it’s important I stay fit.
Strongest collection of midfielders since you joined Rangers?
Over the years we’ve always had great options, especially in midfield. We’ve had a lot of top midfielders at the club, some have moved on.I’ve always said that if we are going to be successful, especially with the amount of games we have to play then we will need the whole squad.
