Ryan Jack has hit out at Mark Reynolds over his bizarre claim that a penalty should've been given against the Rangers midfielder on Saturday.
The Cove Rangers defender appeared on Sky Sports to discuss some of the Premiership action from the weekend.
Broadcasting from outfit of Pittodrie, the 35-year-old ex-Aberdeen, Dundee United and Motherwell star provided his thoughts on some of the big refereeing decisions.
He was asked for his opinion on Willie Collum's call to show a yellow card to Ryan Jack on Saturday for a poor tackle on St Johnstone's Adam Montgomery.
The Scotland international escaped red despite catching the Celtic loanee high on the ankle. A VAR review confirmed that Willie Collum was seemingly right to only brandish a yellow card.
However, it a bizarre mix-up this morning, Reynolds insisted that St Johnstone should've been awarded a penalty for the tackle - despite the fact it happened inside the Perth side's own area.
Reynolds said: "The biggest thing for me was the consistency.
"The two incidents happen very close together and you don't go view the monitor to get your opinion on it but the other is the complete opposite. It's just trying to find that level of consistency.
"When you look back at the back at the tackle from Ryan Jack, he's caught him in the box and all intents and purposes - it's a penalty."
Now, Jack has taken the opportunity to hit back with his thoughts on Instagram.

He wrote on his story: "Pen awwwww day!
"Talking about me giving away pens in the opposition box outside Pittodrie!
"Banter years man! 'I love this game'."
The Gers midfielder accompanied his words with a series of laughing emojis on the social media site.
The pair played together at Aberdeen in the years between 2012 and 2017.
Jack appeared to be fired up for the game after he was left angered by a tackle on him by Nicky Clark, which resulted in a sending off.
St Johnstone have today appealed that decision and will hope to have the experienced forward available in time for their trip to face Motherwell on Wednesday evening.
