Bayern Munich winger Yusuf Kabadayi is the latest name to be linked with a summer move to Ibrox.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Schalke but were unable to afford him on a permanent deal.

Rangers, Lecce and St.Pauli are said to be keen on the forward. With that in mind, we sought the opinion of those who have followed the 20-year-old's career closely.

Aaron from SchalkeZone provided an insight into Kabadayi's time at the Gelsenkirchen club.

How did Kabadayi perform at Schalke?

Overall I would rate his season as a 5/10. He started poorly and it was visible that he needed time to adjust to professional football. It got a bit better but then, at the beginning of this year, he was left out of the squad and demoted to the second team (though only for one game I think) From then on his season and performances seemingly changed. He played better and had a great performance against St. Pauli where he scored two goals. Overall his performances were okay. A bit unstable with some ups and downs. He finished the season on a high as he performed well in the final games.

What position did he play?

He started the season at left or right wing. Later on, he played as a second striker in the 3-5-2 system. He was even used as a right-wing back, that did not work great. In the final games of the season he played as a left No. 8 in the 4-3-1-2 system - he interpreted the role not as a classic No. 8, he was often found on the left wing.

What are his attributes?

He is insanely quick and has some great skill moves.

What does he need to work on?

His dribbling. He is quick and often tries something new. Though it seems that his feet don’t work like his head thinks. He often loses the ball in one-on-one situations. I also think he should work on his crosses and his overview for other players.

What are his goals/assists numbers like?

He finished the season with four goals but no assists. Two of these goals came in the match against champions St. Pauli.

What is Schalke's style of play?

Last season, the football was not really great to watch. As we were in a relegation battle for a long time, the football we played was very basic and simple. We played with many long balls to one of our big strikers. All in all, you can’t say that there was any clear style of play to be seen. It was just a fight for survival.

Relationship with the fans?

I think I speak for all fans when I say we really liked him. He’s a funny, sympathetic and likeable guy who always gave everything for our club. He’s a real fighter.

Do you think a move to Rangers would suit him?

To be honest I really don’t know much about Rangers and their style of play. Neither do I watch the Scottish Premiership regularly. But I think the move would be too big for him right now. He wasn’t a clear starting player in the 2nd division so I don’t think he can be clear immediate help for title aspirants like Rangers. I think he still needs one to two years to develop maybe in a more quiet, less physical league.

What is his injury history like?

He missed three games through injury.

Are Schalke still hopeful of a deal with Bayern or will he move on to another club?

Although our sporting director said otherwise, I don’t think that he’ll come back. Schalke want to rebuild their squad and I can’t see Kabadayi having a place in our squad next season. Sky Germany were also reporting that Kabadayi was desperate to return to his home city, Munich.

How much better do you think he can become?

Many Schalke fans hoped that the club would activate their option to buy. That is because it’s obvious that Kabadayi has great potential. I think he has all the facilities to become a solid player. He’s quick, skillful and has a great finish. It’s hard to say at what level he can be in the future but when he’s in the right environment he can develop nicely.
