Rangers' top scorer Antonio Colak and defender Leon King missed tonight's win over Hibs due to injury.
Manager Michael Beale explained in his post-match interview with Sky that Croatian striker Colak pulled out with a "tight thigh" while young defender King was left stricken by a sickness bug.
The Croatian has hit the ground running with 11 goals since his £1.8m transfer in the summer from Greek outfit PAOK but replacement Alfredo Morelos stepped up to the mark in his absence with the winning goal in a tightly-contested 3-2 win for the Ibrox men.
King's loss was more keenly felt with makeshift central defenders James Sands and John Lundstram struggling to contain the visitor's physical approach.
Beale told Sky Sports: "Unfortunately, Leon King was sick this morning so that changed our plans and John had to drop back there and we lost Colak yesterday afternoon to a tight calf and we didn’t want to take a risk.
"The last 24 hours have been far from ideal. After two weeks very calm I stood in front of you before the game quite calm but in my head there was a lot going on so I’m delighted to take the three points. I knew it wasn’t going to be perfect and we just have to keep improving every week and we have to get back to where we are.
"We can’t be looking too far ahead in terms of the table or anything else. We just have to get back to what we want it to look like on a daily basis."
