Fabio Silva's goal celebration following his close-range strike against Kilmarnock has been largely criticised by Rangers fans.

The on-loan attacker scored with the last kick of the game before half time as the hosts came from a goal down at Ibrox.

Matty Kennedy had Killie in the lead inside a chaotic opening 20 minutes which saw Rangers denied a penalty, awarded a penalty - which was subsequently saved by Will Dennis, and a red card for Joe Wright.

But Silva nipped in at the back post to get the better of marker Lewis Mayo to level the score heading into the break.

Killie struggled to cope playing against 11 men after half time, and it was little surprise to see Ben Davies, Tom Lawrence and John Souttar add some gloss to the scoreline.

However, it was the moments after Silva scored that seemingly irked some of the Ibrox faithful, with the Wolves player coming in for some flack online.

The 21-year-old points to the back of his shirt, as he appeared to tell his critics to be quiet.

Some have labelled it 'embarrassing', while one Rangers fan even called for the loan deal to be ripped up.

One fan said: "Fabio Silva, prove yourself next week or in the cup final. Not against 10 man Kilmarnock at home."

Another said: "Clement must do something about that."

Another added: "So Fabio Silva's decided as his celebration to have a go at his own fan base. Get his loan terminated tonight."

A fourth wrote: "Disrespecting the fans is never a good look."

And a fifth simply said: "Embarrassing."

Rangers closed the gap on Celtic back to three points with the victory, and it will be all eyes on next week's Old Firm derby at Celtic Park.
