Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland has revealed he had no discussions after being left out of the England squad by Gareth Southgate.

The Ibrox No1 has been tipped for a recall to the England national team this month after an impressive start to life in Glasgow.

However, he was left out of the squad with Southgate instead calling up Sam Johnstone, Aaron Ramsdale and Jordan Pickford.

Asked for his reaction to being left out for England, Butland told TNT Sports: "Nope. No discussions.

"If your name is being chucked in there it is because you are doing something right.

"Forme, when I found out I wasn't in the squad it was just back to normal, continue trying to do what I have been doing here.

"That's the only reason I have been in the discussion in the first place because I have been playing and playing well.

"The minute that went out it was just all eyes on this game."

And Rangers keeper Butland went on to insist he would keep 'knocking at the door' of a call-up for England.

He added: "Could I, should I? It doesn't really matter. I've worked hard enough, I've done enough and whatever decision will be.

"There is three fantastic goalkeepers going and I will just keep knocking on the door and see what happens."
