Livingston chief executive Dave Black has expressed his disproval at the inconvenient decision to move their Scottish Championship fixture against Queen's Park to a Friday night.

Livi will now travel to the City Stadium a day earlier than planned, on August 9, due to the confirmation from league authorities that Rangers will now play their first two home league matches at the adjacent Hampden Park.

Philippe Clement's side were due to host Motherwell at Ibrox on August 10, but a delay in construction work being carried out on the Copland Road Stand means they are having to fulfil the fixture elsewhere.

So, to avoid a clash, it's the teams from Scotland's second tier that's been impacted. Something that Black doesn't believe is fair.

Writing on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Black commented: “It’s disappointing that our schedule has been impacted by matters entirely unrelated to our own football club.

“Whilst having sympathy that unexpected issues can occur, I don’t believe our fixture should be the one inconvenienced to remedy that.”
