Philippe Clement's side are without Dujon Sterling but new arrivals Robin Propper and Vaclav Cerny are both in line to make their debuts.

The first team selection of the new season will sum up where Rangers are and where they need to get to. It has been a productive summer so far for Clement but the Belgian knows better than anyone that more work needs to be done to turn his side from challengers into champions.
The likes of Liam Kelly, Clinton Nsiala and Jefte are squad options, while Hamza Igamane is not even at that stage yet. Three of Clement’s new recruits should get the nod if they can.
Connor Barron has made an impressive start to life at Ibrox and will partner Mohamed Diomande. To his right, Vaclav Cerny can finally solve a long-standing problem and provide Rangers with a real threat from the flank. At the heart of the defence, Robin Propper must be an improvement on Connor Goldson and not just a replacement for the vice-captain.
The sight of James Tavernier on the team sheet will please some supporters and upset others. The captain has endured a difficult pre-season but has once again been backed by Clement. A performance at Tynecastle would perhaps allay some of the fears about his conditioning.

If Propper is able to play, he will. Clement has a habit of managing expectations when individuals aren't ready but it's clear he'll trust the ex-FC Twente captain from the off at Tynecastle if able. Expect Ridvan to play over Jefte and Tavernier to continue at right-back.
Barron and Diomande have been a consistent positive in pre-season while the third individual in midfield will undoubtedly be Tom Lawrence. Fresh from two goals in Berlin the attacking midfielder needs to step up at the start of his third season in Glasgow.
Cerny himself played down the likelihood he'll start against Steven Naismith's side during yesterday's press conference and with a Champions League qualifier against Dynamo Kyiv to come on Tuesday, this writer expects Ross McCausland to feature on the right.
Dessers is the only choice to lead the line as Danilo continues his journey back to full fitness.
