Rangers are interested in bringing winger Vaclav Cerny to Ibrox.

The 26-year-old, who was part of the Czech Republic squad that travelled to Euro 2024 this summer, is under contract at Wolfsburg until 2027 having moved to the Bundesliga outfit from FC Twente in the summer of 2023. He started one game at this year's European finals, a 1-1 draw with Georgia.

And the Rangers Review understands he is a player of interest at Ibrox, as Philippe Clement looks to strengthen his wide options ahead of the 2024/25 season.

With 17 international caps and six goals to his name, Cerny is a left-footed right-winger who joined the Ajax academy in 2014.

The attacker subsequently played for FC Utrecht and Twente before a big-money move to Wolfsburg last summer. He featured 22 times in the German league, scoring four goals in the process.

Clement and director of football recruitment Nils Koppen have already strengthened Rangers' options on the left-wing this summer by agreeing on a loan-to-buy deal with Lens for Oscar Cortes.

The 20-year-old Colombian initially moved to Glasgow on loan in January but saw his 2023/24 campaign ended by a freak injury.

Interest in Cerny comes amidst a flurry of potential transfer activity at Ibrox. Clement confirmed at the club's pre-season camp in the Netherlands over a week ago that remaining incomings would be dependent on Rangers moving players out of the club first.

Captain James Tavernier has been the subject of two bids from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor while vice-captain Connor Goldson is attracting the interest of one than more club as he also nears the Ibrox exit door. The defender is part of the squad who travelled to face Birmingham City in a friendly tonight.

Meanwhile, Sam Lammers is still expected to return to the Eredivisie this window. The 26-year-old forward excelled on loan at FC Utrecht during the second half of last season.

Clement's side are in action tonight against Birmingham before they fly to Berlin on Friday. They'll face Union Berlin on Saturday in their final game before the league season starts against Hearts on August 3.
