Standard Liege have reportedly rejected the chance to sign released Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack on a free.

The former Ibrox player was allowed to leave in the summer after spending seven years at the club and the 32-year-old was linked with a move to Dundee last month.

However, reports in Belgium have revealed the Scotland international was offered to Standard in a bid to resurrect his career abroad.

But cash-strapped Standard declined to offer Jack a deal with Croatian manager Ivan Leko not interested and have turned their attention instead to former Bochum star Christophe Antwi-Adjei and ex-Ghent player Dylan Bronn instead, with both also available for nothing.

Jack was a part of Steve Clarke's Euro 2024 squad despite managing just five league starts for Rangers last season, but failed to play a single minute in Germany.

In an emotional farewell to Rangers, Jack posted on Instagram:  "Now the season is done and dusted I would just like to say it’s been absolute honour and privilege to wear the @rangersfc badge over the last 7 years it has meant so much to me.

"From growing up as a fan and having a dream to go and live that dream has been a crazy rollercoaster and one that will live with me for the rest of my life.
