Philippe Clement's options remain somewhat limited heading to Tynecastle tonight with the manager keeping his cards close to his chest in yesterday's press conference regarding potential returns.

Nico Raskin looks likely to be out of action until the New Year but Ryan Jack is believed to be closer to action.

It seems likely that the defence, which conceded nothing at the weekend, will remain unchanged heading East. Leon Balogun and Connor Goldson appear the first-choice picks at the moment and Ridvan Yilmaz, who was targeted by Hearts in the reverse league meeting, has not seen a start since the international break ended.

In midfield, Tom Lawrence's 90 minutes at the weekend suggests he may well be rotated out in place of Jose Cifuentes. The Ecuador international was steady at Pittodrie but disappointed in his subsequent start at home to Aris. With the news that Raskin will be out for the foreseeable, it's clear that Clement will need Cifuentes over the next number of weeks and that could lead to a starting spot in Edinburgh.

A line ahead changes should be minimal. Ross McCausland more than merits keeping his place on the right and Abdallah Sima's return to goalscoring form from the left could be key. Danilo should play ahead of Todd Cantwell who must be Clement's pick at No.10 for the forseeable.

Don't expect too many changes from Sunday's win over St Mirren. The old adage, if it's not broken, don't fix it springs to mind.

That being said, Rangers were limp in attack for much of the game with Cyriel Dessers flattering to deceive for much of it. Danilo should regain his place up top as he offers so much more although he needs to put his shooting boots on as they were missing against Aris last Thursday.

Other than the forward line, the only other alteration is likely to come in midfield. Tom Lawrence did well to last the whole game at the weekend so Jose Cifuentes would represent a possible replacement. However, the Ecuadorian is struggling for form and Rangers cannot afford passengers at Tynecastle so it's tempting to ask Lawrence to go to the well again.

Rangers will need to win the midfield battle if they're to emerge from Gorgie with three points and in John Lundstram and Lawrence, it's a duo that offers plenty of bite.
